New Books

Along with lots of charity shop book finds, three new special children's books have entered our home recently.

Since I watched the ballet of Romeo and Juliet at the age of three, Shakespeare's tale of star crossed lovers has always been a favourite. So what better way to start the little man off on a lifelong love of the Bard than with this Romeo and Juliet Little Master Shakespeare which we got him for his birthday. Such a lovely idea for a board book.
This gorgeous Alphabet book by Paul Thurlby came from Little B's friend Master Carkeek and we're keeping it out of his reach for the time being as the illustrations are excellent and I love the unusual choices of words for each letter. One for when he's a bit older I think.
And another book that we'll be keeping in a safe place until he's a little older is Henri's Walk to Paris which tells a delightful tale about a boy learning to appreciate his home town. Sent by a friend of Mr B's, the amazing illustrations are by Saul Bass who also did lots of work for Hitchcock.
